BUILD-PAC Champions Honored as Leading Fundraisers
BUILD-PAC, NAHB’s nonpartisan political action committee dedicated to electing pro-housing candidates, had a stellar year thanks to thousands of NAHB member contributions.
Ten NAHB members were recently named BUILD-PAC Champions, an honor that recognizes the top tier of recruiters who opened pathways for new donors and raised at least $10,000 for the committee.
The list of champions includes:
- Tom Baalmann – Kansas
- Kenneth Boynton – Connecticut
- Robert Brennan – Massachusetts
- Kevin Chaffin – Illinois
- Don Dabbert – North Dakota
- Kenneth Estes – Mississippi
- Alma Jacobs – North Carolina
- Steve Martinez – Idaho
- Michael Munnerlyn – Louisiana
- Kevin Woodward – Florida
“BUILD-PAC is like a shield to protect the home building industry,” said Munnerlyn, CEO of Smash My Trash in Acadiana, La. “It’s important to raise the money to help keep building affordable.”
Baalmann, general manager of B&B Lumber in Wichita, Kan., raised most of his contributions and added new donors through a 144-person golf event over the summer.
Those looking to join Baalmann in the ranks as a BUILD-PAC Champion should “formulate a plan and act on it,” he said.
“You have to be proactive and build a coalition with your local association and members to get it done.”
To become a BUILD-PAC Champion, start by registering for the program so staff can accurately attribute contributions.
