NAHB Welcomes First Cohort of New Master Credential Holders
NAHB welcomed its first cohort of Certified Master Building Professional (CMBP) and Certified Master Remodeling Professional (CMRP) credential holders at the Spring Leadership Meeting in Washington, D.C. As of June 25, 62 industry leaders hold the new title of Certified Master Builder or Remodeler, and the numbers continue to grow weekly.
This recently launched credential for more experienced builders and remodelers (5+ years’ experience) is designed to spotlight industry professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to the highest standards of practice within the residential construction industry.
Applicants must complete 50 hours of broad-based qualifying education within five years and have a minimum of five years served in a leadership role at a residential building or remodeling firm.
Builders and remodelers believe this credential will be a massive differentiator in the competitive space of home building and remodeling.
“I think the builder with this credential, who went through the continuing education, will make people know they’re passionate about this industry,” said Greg Hardwick, president and founder of Hardwick General Contracting and a newly inducted CMBP credential holder. “They want to do a fantastic job; they educate themselves; they have the credibility with what we have to provide for our business. That against someone who’s just another builder should make a huge difference to consumers.&rduo;
Those who meet the requirements can register for the Certified Master Building Professional exam or Certified Master Remodeling Professional exam now.
“Any builder who’s been in business a few years should think about becoming a Certified Master Builder,” said Chris Ragland, owner of Homes by Chris who also recently earned the CMBP credential. “It gives you more credibility in the industry, and it’s a great program they put together.”
