Industry Legends Honored With National Housing Center Awards

Several industry leaders were recently honored for their contributions to the housing industry during the National Housing Center Awards Ceremony on June 13 in Washington, D.C. The ceremony recognized the 2026 inductees to the National Housing Hall of Fame and the recipients of the Exemplary Service to Home Building Award.

2026 National Housing Hall of Fame Inductees:

  • Thomas Bozzuto: For more than 40 years, Thomas Bozzuto has been a transformative leader in the housing industry, shaping communities, advancing innovation in multifamily housing, and establishing a national benchmark for organizational culture and customer experience. He has redefined the standards for building and managing homes, provided thought leadership on housing policy and been an advocate for sustainable development.
  • Laurie Goodman: Prior to founding the Housing Finance Policy Center at the Urban Institute, Laurie Goodman spent more than 30 years primarily focused on mortgage market research and analysis. Her research was critical in guiding housing finance reform during and after the Great Recession by helping the housing industry understand the foreclosure crisis and creating solutions; forming new policy for more effective and fair mortgage servicing; and pushing for mortgage modifications to help struggling home owners. Her work has left a significant and enduring mark on NAHB and the housing industry as a whole.

2026 Exemplary Service to Home Building Award Recipients:

  • Marvin “Jerry” Carter, Jr.: Marvin “Jerry” Carter Jr’s contributions throughout his decades-long career have left a lasting legacy on the housing industry and the communities it serves. His leadership has extended well beyond the jobsite, including service on numerous boards and committees for the City of Garland. His efforts were instrumental in adopting residential energy codes and advancing development standards to address soil conditions and reduce regulatory burdens.
  • Edward “Eddie” Martin, Jr.: Through visionary leadership, persistent advocacy and a strong commitment to increasing housing access, Edward “Eddie” Martin, Jr. has created lasting change throughout the home building industry. He has actively taken on a variety of leadership roles with NAHB at the local, state and national level, in which he advocated for policies that keep housing affordable while maintaining consumer protections. His work has led to reforms that benefit both builders and buyers, offering a roadmap for effective housing advocacy nationwide.
