Emerging Leader Grant Opens the Door to National Leadership for More Members

NAHB members and leaders will head to Washington, D.C., June 9-13, for the NAHB Spring Leadership Meeting — a dynamic week of big-picture conversations and meaningful connections. Throughout the week, attendees will collaborate on key initiatives, tackle the industry’s most pressing challenges and take part in invaluable networking opportunities that strengthen both their businesses and the Federation as a whole.

To ensure more first-time attendees can experience the impact of this event, NAHB created the Emerging Leader Grant, awarding eligible members with $1,000 to help cover travel expenses. The grant supports members who are already serving in leadership roles at their state or local HBA and are ready to take the next step in their national leadership journey by attending a Spring or Fall Leadership Meeting.

“With the Emerging Leader Grant, I was able to gain broader industry insight, build stronger connections with building professionals around the country, and strengthen my ability to serve both of my local HBAs,” said 2025 grant recipient Molli Babler of Willow Ridge Design Build in Waunakee, Wis. “It’s an exceptional program for anyone looking to elevate their leadership and invest in the future of home building.”

The Spring Leadership Meeting also aligns with the annual NAHB Legislative Conference on June 10, offering members a powerful opportunity to meet face-to-face with their elected officials on Capitol Hill and advocate for pro-housing policies. For many, it’s the only time all year they have the chance to sit down directly with members of Congress and ensure the housing industry’s voice is heard.

“Going to Washington allowed our group to have more power in the meetings with our state senators and representatives, ensuring [we would cover] the key topics of conversation that directly impact our industry in our state,” said Erin Wood of Wood Builders in Rapid City, S.D.

“Along with lobbying,” Wood continued, “being able to attend the committee meetings gave me a much larger understanding of how the NAHB works to help the problems that plague the housing industry as a whole.”

Members currently serving in leadership roles at their local HBA who have not yet attended an NAHB Spring or Fall Leadership Meeting are encouraged to apply. The deadline to apply for the spring meeting has been extended to March 20, 2026.
